Got a phone number of a guy selling a TZR today. 3 Hours later an it's in the shed.

Question is, is what to do with it?

Might fit the mito wheels off the TDR and do a trackday or two this winter. Saves smashing the NSR to bits if anything..

Interestingly enough, a mate of mine raced it a few years back. I remember the dodgy seat unit!

Nice. If it was me I'd use the seat unit as inspiration and slowly replace all the parts with MDF copies. Failing that a good fettle and get it on the track :eusa_dance:

Yes, the seat is quite special!

Been doing some thinking, seeing as it's only cost me a ton, I may as well use the thing over winter. TDR needs stripping anyway so will borrow the tuned cylinders, pipes and mito wheels. Voila, more power and some sticky tyres..

Still gonna sell it next year, did think of keeping as a wet bike but hard to justify the cost of running 2 bikes when I can barely afford to run 1.

Paint it in the proper blue and yellow speed blocks please, even if its just a rattle can job!

Always loved those tzr's. Was on one of them that mat Oxley did the first 100mph proddie 250 lap of the IOM.

Ring a ding ding.

Done some work! Put the Ohlins shock off my TDR on it, modified the forks to make them less baggy, got a single seat unit and this evening have been making some pipes from a kit off Mr. 77!

First trackday next weekend, see how it goes. Might have another 2MA in the pipeline over the next month so will hopefully build one decent bike out of the two!

It had it's first trackday yesterday at Anglesey circuit, what a hoot! Engine rattling its little head off all day, pretty much zero power and comedy handling, but what a giggle!

BT45's are the best tyres in the world for stuff like this!

Photos soon...

Liking your style, sir.

"That little farty bike is never going to make that corner. He's going to outbrake himself. Eh, he seems to be in front of us... How did that happen?"
