garage19
I'm going to change the ring on my motocross bike. I know i need to prep the bore to achieve a decent seal but i'm not sure how as it is nikasil plated. I was thinking ball hone but then alot of people say thats a no go as they can pick up on port edges and damage the plating. Alot of stuff on the web i've read seems to suggest just using a scotchbrite pad to de glaze. Will this have any effect??? Would love to ring up someone like stan stephens and ask but that would be far to cheeky as i'm not buying anything.
Stu13
Unless its very high milage just fit the new rings and put back together. You can do more harm than good unless you know what you are doing with plated bores.
