Ringding Posted September 19, 2008 Report Posted September 19, 2008 Well the LC had it's first run out in about three months this morning. I'd had a long wait for a genuine throttle cable to arrive (incompetent postal service(!)) and then the weather hadn't really been upto an LC ride so the SV had been getting all the commuting action. I decided enough was enough this morning. I did almost die from a coughing fit when I started her up though! Next time she is laid up for a bit I must remember to run her up every couple of weeks to prevent the cases getting oiled. It took a couple of miles of four stroking and more smoke than at the Battle of Jutland before everything cleared. But it was worth the wait. I balanced the carb's with a level of pedantry that will go down in legend and it paid off. Nice and smooth, even on very small throttle settings, right upto 5k. A small hiccup there, but only on small throttle openings, and then the standard take off like a scud rocket LC experience. Every set of traffic lights was an excuse to hoik a (pathetically low and probably unimpressive) wheelie and I could see people checking their wing mirrors when they heard the crackle of the Allspeeds when I was filtering. I was giggling sporadically for a good five minutes after I arrived at work. I'd been planning on using her for the trip to work at least once a week this summer, and failed completely. But I'm looking forward to a two-stroke powered autumn and winter now. So, to anyone sat in thier car in north Bristol this morning who got carved up by a complete twot on an LC, it was me...and it was great! Poop poop!
intra Posted September 22, 2008 Report Posted September 22, 2008 Poop poop! Did you shit yourself mate?
Ringding Posted September 22, 2008 Author Report Posted September 22, 2008 Did you shit yourself mate? Not quite but I do score my wheelies on the sphincter scale... Doesn't mean they are big, just that I scare easy.
