r1-daz Posted August 26, 2010 Report Posted August 26, 2010 Just bought a Suzuki 1200 Bandit 1998 Mk 1 which i'm breaking just for the engine for my project bike. Quick question...i'm intending to put RamAir foam pod filters on, what size main jets should i be using? I havn't taken the airbox off yet so what size are the carbs at the back...they look about 55mm? Cheers.
bezzer Posted August 27, 2010 Report Posted August 27, 2010 With pod filters and a can you're looking at around 150-155 mains. Dunno the inlet diameter but I think on the Gen1 they are slightly ovalled and more like 60mm. Using individual filters usually means you have to jam them in as the spacing is fairly tight, most use the twin pod filters that need a little less room but then it's K&N prices. ....and... if you're using the Bandit CDI to run it just be aware you have to use a Bandit ignition switch as well to make it run or plumb a resistor in to bypass it as it's got an anti hotwire system from switch to CDI and won't fire.
banoffee Posted August 27, 2010 Report Posted August 27, 2010 if you're not already, get yourself ok http://oldskoolsuzuki.info - plenty of people with bandit engines on there with modifications, experience etc
