Hello there all, been a loyal Performance Bikes reader for a very long time now, but new to the forum side of it all.

Just got rid of my 04 636 (not sure why I did really) and now own a 2007 Z1000.

The handling is not the greatest on my one anyway, every corner feels like i'm on a wallowing cammel.

Iv'e heard the stock suspension is not the best.

Have had a small play with the settings but it really isn't woking for me.

would anyone have a good setup for this bike, and or would an aftermarket rear shock and new firmer springs in the front make a huge enough difference to validate spending the money.

would really appreciate any advice.

Hi Stampy, welcome to the forum

I haven't got any setup info for your bike, sorry. I have an 08 Z750 and I am finding that the handling is quite poor, very choppy at the rear and I have no confidence in the front end grip. I rode a Z1000 demo bike and it felt great up to the 750 (I couldn't afford it :P ).

I am going to see a suspension specialist (once I have binned the Dunlop tyres) to get some advice. I'll let you know how I get on, but a mate used White Cross for a track bike setup and he's been blindingly quick ever since !

Thankyou 'blow_away', would love to know how you get on with the Z750, would be a direct reflection on what I could hope to achieve. Thanks for the welcome too.

Ive just bought an 03 Z1000 and for your info im pretty sure the ZX10R shock fits, much better shock with more adjustment etc... if they are anything like GSXR thou shocks you should get one off fleebay for about 40 quid. Also i think its ZX10R and the B1H front ends fit, some even fit into the Z1000 yokes, thatd give you radial calipers too. Search the net and you should find info on it.

Hi mate,

dunno where your based, but if you re up northish then don't mess about, take it to Kais in Atherton(M61 J4) ask for a stage 1 respring / revalve, which costs about 400, and you won t recognise your bike.

Do it you know you want to.
