Annaz Posted November 15, 2008 Report Posted November 15, 2008 I was gonna fettle the forks on this bike but I'm thinking a decent set of usd's would be an idea, probably off a 750 SRAD. I'm not all that familiar with the model range and swappable bits,(being a kwakka man) So could you tell me what model/year of bikes forks am I looking for? Also, to save another thread, Could someone suggest a decent race dash, I've seen them around, displaying speed, revs, gear, temp etc

Annaz Posted November 16, 2008 Author Report Posted November 16, 2008 I found out that the 750 front end goes straight in, with the 750 yokes aswell likes, but I can use my wheel and callipers...Hooray! And they say that the racers prefer the 4 pots to the 6 pots...hoooray again! So Zakalwe, how is your project going? We will have to have a race when we get'em finnished
Annaz Posted November 17, 2008 Author Report Posted November 17, 2008 The only race that I would probably win, is the race to the gravel trap , so there will be no bragging points for beating me (sorry about that! ). Roll on Spring and a bit of fine weather! I reckon you'd do well to get to the gravel before me Ive been thinking about a thumb operated rear brake, coz I've got a bit of a 'club foot' when it comes to rear brake operation, I'll have get some prices and sfuff first. Sounds like you're well ahead of me at the mo. I'm hoping to be up and running for a session at Croft in March.
lorenzo Posted November 17, 2008 Report Posted November 17, 2008 Annaz, if you want a pretty posh all in one dash then I've got the mother of all dashes for you. The thing is though, I've butcherd the wiring loom, so you'll have to fork out about £20 or so to buy the cable from veypor themselves (online store is offline at the moment, but it was $14.95 plus shipping). Other than that, I've got the serial cable for software updates, and a PSU for when you're doing the software stuff, plus the original ball type bracket to hold it on. It's pretty good, does revs, speed (imperial, metric or a bit of both), gear indicator, how much G you're pulling, quarter miles and 0-60-0 etc, plus a very cool virtual dyno that you can download onto your computer. Of course, despite being quite accurate the dyno's nonsense; you have to hold it in one gear right accross the rev range so you'll have to find a very long straight flat road and be chugging along at 2000rpm in 4th or something with cars tooting you etc, then about 3 minutes later you come flying past them at full chat and they wonder what the fuck you're up to.... They go for about £80-90 on ebay 2nd hand if they've got the cable with them, about £250 new , it's yours for £50, PM me if you're intrested, all procedes will be going to the stunning C.U.NT.
Annaz Posted November 17, 2008 Author Report Posted November 17, 2008 A serious question - not to be answered with "as little as possible" - how much do you want to spend? I want to spend 29p I will most likely need to spend £80. A second hand clock set is £40, but weighs about 900g. I like the Lorenzo option. I'll just have to research them first.
