scubafrog Posted November 14, 2008 Report Posted November 14, 2008 When i bought my zx6r a few months ago some of you guys gave me some advice to put some silkolene pro fst in the fuel tank. I got some last week but cant find out how much i need to put in a tank. Even my local kwak dealer didn't know, but did say it was a good idea. Please help once again Many thanks
bezzer Posted November 14, 2008 Report Posted November 14, 2008 1% is the recommended dose, I used to put a couple of capfuls into a full tank.
David W Posted November 16, 2008 Report Posted November 16, 2008 Keeping the carb heater filter clean is a must on a ZX6R too. If it blocks it can make the carb icing much worse. I use ProFST over the winter because it is an excellent fuel stabiliser too. Works a treat in the lawnmower.
SexMachine Posted November 16, 2008 Report Posted November 16, 2008 Scubafrog ... I had terrible carb icing on my old Fazer. I used to stick in a "splash" to a fullish tank. I worked brilliantly all winter .. as was shown up on the mornings when there was no FST in the tank . .......as I am nearer the North Pole than you .... a "dash" or a "capfull" .... may be better than a "Splash .
addiction269 Posted November 16, 2008 Report Posted November 16, 2008 used to tell you on it, cap full to ten litres is a good start
scubafrog Posted November 19, 2008 Author Report Posted November 19, 2008 Thanks guys, i'll give it a go.
