hoona6 Posted November 14, 2008 Report Posted November 14, 2008 So that's twice this week that the fuse for my rad fan has blown. Conincidence? Perhaps but I fear not. Due to my relative mechanical ineptitude I really have no idea what may be causing it. The only thing I can think of is the thermostat. Can anybody suggest any avenues of investigation? I bow to your superior knowledge. Ommmmmmmmmmm Hoona
ronenige Posted November 14, 2008 Report Posted November 14, 2008 what zak said , does it blow when the fan is due to cut in or before , this can tell you which side of the circuit to look at , ie supply or load .
billysbones Posted November 15, 2008 Report Posted November 15, 2008 what zak said , does it blow when the fan is due to cut in or before , this can tell you which side of the circuit to look at , ie supply or load . Can you unplug the fan easily? If so, unplug it and run the bike until the thermostatatatatatat* clicks in, and see if the fuse blows. if it doesn't allow to cool for a while, then repeat the process with the fan connected. If it blows now, it's your fan. if it blew before, it's not *These were originally fitted for cooling on machine guns. I may have just made that up. I'm not sure. you decide.
nedster Posted November 21, 2008 Report Posted November 21, 2008 take your fan off throw it away and when you get on your bike again just go faster to cool it down lol seriously, do wot they said rocks
