Katana#007 Posted November 10, 2008 Report Posted November 10, 2008 Got a 2007 R1. Only the red service key works. Both black keys work mecanically, byt the immobilizer says no go. Anyone knowing how to code the black keys? Anyone having the service manual? I got the US service manual, but they don't have any immobilizer. Thanks in advance for help! BR / HR
ronenige Posted November 11, 2008 Report Posted November 11, 2008 insert the red key until the immobiliser light comes on , turn it off , insert first black key till light comes on , turn it off insert second black key till light comes on turn it off , this has to be done fairly quickly so seperate the keys and be methodical about it ,I usually put the key in and count to three then swap , it sometimes takes a couple of attempts , do it soon as i have heard that there is a finite amount of times you can use the red key so you end up having to buy a new ecu , if no fault codes are shown ( 51 or 52 )when you put the black keys in , check the fuses there are two that are needed for the power feed up to the aerial . hope this helps
Katana#007 Posted November 11, 2008 Author Report Posted November 11, 2008 Thanks for advice. I think that's about what I did, but I'll try again. Code 52 comes up. Maybe maximum number of attempts has been exceeded. I hope not. BR / HR
ronenige Posted November 12, 2008 Report Posted November 12, 2008 If its showing 52 it may be getting confused by other transponders , make sure the keys are seperated by at least 18 inches , its not had a key conversion done for an alarm has it ?

Thanks for reply. I think the keys has been properly separated. I'll try tonight again. No idea what it has been through, just bought it... Have code tag so I can try buying another black key, but those I hava are working mechanically, so they should be ok. Maybe have to go to Yamma workshop. Do not wanna buy new ECU! Then I rather just use the red key. BR / HR
Katana#007 Posted November 12, 2008 Author Report Posted November 12, 2008 Still doesn't work. Somebody thought you might have to disconnect the battery before coding? What do you think about that?
ronenige Posted November 12, 2008 Report Posted November 12, 2008 Battery has got to be connected , try this place for a manual .http://www.thesparesnetwork.co.uk/manuals/download.php?action=showcatfiles&cat_id=8&cat_name=Yamaha
