Woolfie Posted November 9, 2008 Report Posted November 9, 2008 Can anyone tell me anything about Andy Bacon? I believe he specialises (or did) in 2 stroke race pipes for older yamahas? I'm wondering because I have a set of race pipes for my RG500 that were supposed to have been made by him and wondered if they were unique. The pipes are hydroformed instead of being built from cones and the cans are welded to the pipes too.
Sean Posted November 9, 2008 Report Posted November 9, 2008 just found this in a quick search http://www.two-strokes.com/forums/index.ph...amp;mode=linear Hope this helps Sean
morepower Posted November 9, 2008 Report Posted November 9, 2008 Andy (Hank) Bacon did a lot of pipes for all sorts of bikes as Abcon. But he has started working for a Notts bike shop. I am not sure of he is still making pipes so I am not sure if any Abcon phone numbers work but fahron can get hold of him easily if you need to ask any questions. I forgot the number for Ron at Fahron but it will come up if you google "Fahron".
Woolfie Posted November 9, 2008 Author Report Posted November 9, 2008 Thanks for the response, I don't need to get in touch with him, I was just curious to know more about him and his pipes. I've never heard of anyone else with his pipes on an RG500. How do his pipes compare with swarbricks, jollys, etc. on most bikes?

His pipes were used on JHA 125 GP Bikes apparently! He could get some good power with his pipes if he had the porting spec as well. The Swarbricks and Jollys are for stock engines and work as well as any stock bike pipe.... Hanks were for tuned bikes and my 250 single was good for about 55BHP at the wheel which for it's age was stunning.

BenF125 Posted December 29, 2008 Report Posted December 29, 2008 Me and my Dad have had pipes made for our 125 outfit by him. We had various ones for various engines and they were all good.
