hi everyone ,was wondering if anyone can help?

I've just put a gpz 600r motor into another bike (pics later )and I'm going to run single filters (s&b , k&n ) can anyone surgest carb settings (jetting etc ) to give me an idea of where to start before I take it to a dyno shop ,I don't have access to a van so need to sort something to be able to ride it there !

any help would be cool .

thanks

wouldn't it be wisest to start with standard and work from there? You have standard sizes available?

You don't really want to go any higher than +15% stock main jet size on stock carbs. Though unless you've done some serious tuning, you won't need to.

On my GPZ500 I went up --5 so from a 130 to a 135. Allens Performance are the people to speak to for your jets, good people.

Oh and to add- if it goes pop it's got bugger all to do with me.

thanks ! who are Allens Performance and have you got a contact for them .

Wil you need to jet it just to get it to a dyno? Sure, it'll run lean with the stock jets in there, but for a short(ish) distance, so long as you don't ride it hard, this should be OK. A lean engine tends to run hotter, so take it easy, and also lacks power, but it doesn't usually run that badly. Typically a lean engine will tend to be crisp in terms of revving, but lacking any real guts under load, which should be OK to get you a few miles down the road at least. As I said, keep an eye on your temp, as they also run hotter.
