Rear brake resevoir swap

I'm toying with the idea of removing the stock (ugly) rear brake resevoir on my wife's 2007 CBR 600RR.

I'd like to do the HRC style plastic tube type, but I've been unable to find any sources in the US so far. Has anyone on the board had any experience doing this, and if so what type of tubing, clamps, and stoppers did you use?

I've seen an HRC kit available in the UK, but none in the US.

I know that you have to be very careful about what material is used for the flexible / clear resevoir because brake fluid knackers all manner of plastics. Best to order at least that part from Honda. The parts all have HRC part numbers so any honda dealer should be able to get them for you.

Tyga list the kit on their site:Link to HRC res kit on Tyga site and they list the Honda part numbers

Exactly!

Thanks for the link, they have a distributor in California, so if the local Honda shop can't get it, I'll try Tyga.

Thanks again!

looked like this when done

total cost about a fiver , you may have to sleeve the pipe to get a good fit , but no major problems

The only thing with the HRC parts is that the hose is horrible, it's really hard, really stiff and doesn't inspire me with any confidence at all. Does anybody know where you can get brake hose that's actually a bit nice, sort of soft and flexible etc, rather than this rock hard HRC crap?

I've seen Suzuki's with fluorescent pink stuff on both front and rear, pinker than pink but it does look like it does a nice job

Maybe a googly search will bring up something...

Edit: Nope, looks like it doesn't(although I did have a man's look..) a local car brake specialist should be able to procure something nicer
