drunkn munky Posted October 23, 2008 Report Posted October 23, 2008 I have my RVF NC35 compleately stripped and want to clean up the years of crud and road grime off the frame, swingarm, engine and other bits and pieces before putting it back together. Anyone got any sugestions as what to use to get a good finish, im told parafin and elbow grease works well, anyone used this? I know i could have it all shotblasted and painted but it is only my trackbike and i dont want to start throwing cash at it that it doesnt really need.
drunkn munky Posted October 23, 2008 Author Report Posted October 23, 2008 Parrafin it is then. Has anyone ever heard of putting nuts and bolts in a tub of boiling tea to clean them up????

Either Coca-cola or vinegar will work wonders if left in it for a day or two - both work as a mild 'acid dip'. Cheap vinegar from yr local supermarket can be had for 20p for 500ml if you buy the blue label value stuff......that and a plastic tub and away you go....
