awood12345 Posted October 16, 2008 Report Posted October 16, 2008 Hi guys, I recently bought a gsxr1000 k6 and now I am wondering what is the best way to get more horsepower out of it? It currently has a Yoshi Exhaust (end can and link pipe), K&N and a power commander mapped to suit the can. I can't think of any quick easy ways to gain some more horsepower, I'm after another five or so (to help it wheelie in second without tugging the bars). I can't remember what it was last dyno'd at I think its 159bhp. I don't really want to open the engine up (I have 2-stroke for that ), just looking for bolt on suggestions. Cheers, Alan
MonkeyJim Posted October 16, 2008 Report Posted October 16, 2008 your choices is simple: one tooth less on the front sprocket &/or 2 or 3 teeth more on the rear sprocket that is all PS. 159 hosses? and you can't wheelie it in 2nd?
kwakbiker Posted October 16, 2008 Report Posted October 16, 2008 with monkey, gotta be gearing change if you cant get it up phnarr phnarrr
awood12345 Posted October 17, 2008 Author Report Posted October 17, 2008 PS. 159 hosses? and you can't wheelie it in 2nd? lol thats what I thought, I thought it would be easy on power................ but it only just doesn't want to lift, catch a bump or even give it a good tug and its ok but I want it to lift only on power (lazy ). A gearing change it is then, cheers. Cheers, Alan
