Right then, wind the throttle on,fine. Holding a steady throttle? Wank, almost missing,shunting,running rough. Braking towards a corner,down the gears,off the brakes and you just want to roll on a bit to drive the bike round the bend, go from a closed throttle and start to wind it on and theres nothing,then all of a sudden it`ll bang in totally fucking up your corner entry. Annoying as fuck.

The bike idles fine which kinda makes me think its not a carb diaphram problem. So far I`ve got a set of plugs and an air filter to go in tomorrow,will check the carb diaphrams and drain the float bowls in case there some shit in them. Any ideas??

p.s... bikes a 99 blade rrx with 18,000 on the clock.

check if it's been dynojetted , around this mileage the needles can star wearing the emulsion tubes oval which can give a similar problem , hth

Results of initial stripdown...

1. Whichever numpty prick had the airbox off last didn`t put it back on anywhere remotely correct. In fact they`d not actually pushed it onto the carbs and just tightened up the clamps until the faces met.....

2. The airfilter was as black as a black thing. New filter fitted.

3. Drained the bowls, kinda hard to tell if there was any water in them.

4. Checked for dynojet kit, Standard kit still in there.

5 Checked diaprhams,all ok.

6.Fitted new spark plugs.....34 quid....

Might give it a run later to see whats what as I`ve got my son at the mo and don`t think he`d appreciate being gaffa taped to the pillion seat..

Will report back later on results of test ride.
