madmike Posted August 28, 2009 Report Posted August 28, 2009 As i had a crash a few months back my rear sets got abit boshed! so ive eBay'd the CBR400 original, When i fitted the brake i had to change everything, not just the foot hanger and rest, So I attatched the hose onto the rear brake and filled up the empty resivoir, Started pumping it through but the rear brake doesnt seem to be working! Oh! and i removed the hose that connects to the rear brake and made sure when i pressed the brake it was squirting fluid out! and yes... it was Cheers. Mike.

Sounds like it'd still full of air mate, you need to bleed it through to the caliper and make sure there is no air left in the system. do a search on bleeding brakes and you'll find the method somewhere.
madmike Posted August 28, 2009 Author Report Posted August 28, 2009 Yeah thought so.. Ill have a read! Cheers tom!
lorenzo Posted August 29, 2009 Report Posted August 29, 2009 Try and find a time when the back brake is sorted out on the bros round at triggers, then you can pump your fresh fluid through together. That way you 'll have somebody to laugh at you when it doesn't work, and you can laugh at him when you leave him the excess brake fluid that you've pumped through. Back brakes can be a bit of a pain in the arse, it's often easier if you take the whole caliper off. Just a couple of bubbles in there'll stop it working pretty much altogether, in terms of actual braking at least.
