cagimaha
Ive got an RD350LC (4L0) motor in my mito350 and a scitsu temp guage (so it should be pretty accurate) and it runs at 40 degrees durng normal riding and goes up to around 55 degrees if its sat for a while. I think this is probably too cold to be running for any strenuous activity but just want to see what the opinion of some of the more learned people on here is. Also I have a fuel starvation issue, I think I know the solution to this one though and should have it sorted tomorrow. Just wondered if any of you have had similar problems. I get about 10 seconds of fun in the powerband before it runs out of fuel. I think it is because I have a relatively restrictive "T-piece" and inline filter setup in my fuel lines to split the single mito tap outlet into two lines, one for each carb. Im running KR1S carbs in case that makes a difference. Ive got some bigger bore fuel line, t-piece and some diesel filters on order and I should get them tomorrow. Any comments/criticism gladly recieved, Ben.
GREENGOATCHOKER
alright Ben . about 65-70 deg c is about ideal .The fuel starvation situation don't forgent to check the flow rate of the tap itself and the float bowl heights
cagimaha
Thanks for the temp info GGC, also Ive been that involved with the fuel lines and filters that I completely forgot about the float heights. As for the tap I assume that the mito tap is capable of flowing enough fuel because there are plenty of people using the standard tap on their mito350. At first the tap was an issue because the filter couldnt handle pre-mixed fuel so I removed the filter from the tap and have two inline filters one just upstream of each carb. Thinking that diesel is slightly more viscous than normal petrol I have also got hold of some diesel inline filters so flow through them shouldnt be an issue. Ill get onto the floats tonight though. Cheers, Ben.
cagimaha
Finally found the cause of the fuel starvation issue. The alledgedly "vented" keyless tank cap that I fitted hardly vents at all. The vent is under the cap which seals with an o-ring! What a crock of shit. Anyway its easily sorted I guess... dougb
ben, glad you've got the fueling sorted, you've got the same set up as me(except the filters),the mito tap flows plenty of fuel,my ypvs lump runs between 64 and 72 degrees depending on use, yours deffenatly seems to be running overly cool...... cagimaha
Thanks for the info Doug. Ive sorted the cooling by using neat coolant rather than diluting it. It dosent drop below 60 degrees now during normal running. Cheers, Ben.
