Liamo Posted October 9, 2008 Author Report Posted October 9, 2008 RG500 engine and frame innit, with new-ish GSX-R running gear and bodywork ? Very nice, whatever it is. ah, I just copped the frame there, looks like a nice job.
Axlnut Posted October 10, 2008 Report Posted October 10, 2008 looks ugly and pointless why bother What the hell happened between the old forum and this one.... What was the point of your comment, so you don't like his bike, good for you, then offer maybe CONSTRUCTIVE criticism Instead you just trash it and the owners work, pointless. The old forum was the best bike forum ever, so helpful, everyone polite, this one is not going in a good direction, thanks to crap like that. To the owner of that bike, looks like nice work, would love to see a side profile to see how the tank/frame line up with the fairings, and how the other side of the swinger looks, since the newer GSXR swingers have that odd cat. cut out. (oh and I don't really dig the overall look of the bike, it's not for me, but it's for someone, and they put the work innit, and thats what counts, notice how I didn't need to slam him...) take notes Marvin
marvin Posted October 10, 2008 Report Posted October 10, 2008 Still pointless excercise - free country of course
ricey3 Posted October 10, 2008 Report Posted October 10, 2008 i was riding at the pb track day in the same group as the lady that owns the rg5 pictured, she was gining it some round the track too, as mentioned there will be something in the mag i'm sure as they did a photo shoot at the end of the day. It looks brilliant in the flesh a really nice job and you really do have to look twice. There is no question on the point of it.
nuttytart Posted October 15, 2008 Report Posted October 15, 2008 Hi Liamo .. its my little toy / flight of fancy ... glad you like it Its RG500 down the middle with GSXR750 K7 front and back ends and it came about cos the standard bike had crappy front brakes and was somewhat flexible in the corners Now it goes like fcuk AND can take the corners and stop with the best of em So not 'pointless' at all Marvin if ya like yur strokers an want one that handles and looks up to date but yur welcome to yur opinion I didn't build it for approval but for my own pleasure and am pleased to say it has exceeded my expectations
si.likes.guiness Posted October 15, 2008 Report Posted October 15, 2008 and thats the point of making it,updating it with newer parts as the olds forks etc wernt up to the job.i think it looks shit hot
marvin Posted October 15, 2008 Report Posted October 15, 2008 Me i love strokers got two RGvs myself but beauty is in the eye of the beholder I guess.

Defecting to the Suzuki "Dark Side" will only end in tears.
nuttytart Posted October 15, 2008 Report Posted October 15, 2008 Oi, Clare, have you given up on the 350 special? Defecting to the Suzuki "Dark Side" will only end in tears. Oright Bongo .. how yur diddling .. u ok ?? Nope .. not given up on the 350 special .. I just got side tracked a little .. 2 smokes 4 ever Posted October 15, 2008 Report Posted October 15, 2008 So not 'pointless' at all Marvin if ya like yur strokers an want one that handles and looks up to date but yur welcome to yur opinion I didn't build it for approval but for my own pleasure and am pleased to say it has exceeded my expectations fcuking well said S'pose Marvin has got a bog std GSXR or similar, and no imagination You don't need the latest hot poop to have fun Indeed a bike built and mod'ed by one self is often enjoyed more than a brand new showroom fresh bike
marvin Posted October 15, 2008 Report Posted October 15, 2008 No Marvin aint got a bog standard GSXR although he has in the past He does have two RGVs - one stock, one highly modified He has three F4 MVs - one 312r, one 1000s and one 750SR. and finally a 98 blade for commuting Just dont see the point of making a two stroke look like a common four stroke - but thats just me

There was a pic of this in PB a few months back as an unfinished project wasn't there?.
nuttytart Posted October 15, 2008 Report Posted October 15, 2008 Excellent, get some RGV500 bodywork though i reckon! . There was a pic of this in PB a few months back as an unfinished project wasn't there?. Yup Jon .. it was in the 'work in progress' catagory in the special of the year .... And as you can see its running around now .. still got a couple of small touches to do over winter but essentially its finished .... but as anyone who mods bikes this much will tell you 'they are never really finished' I just cant help tinkering ... I don't do standard ... As Ben said earlier in this post .. it may appear in next issue .. hope Gary doesn't miss quote me an make me look like a nitwit ..
wavydavy Posted October 16, 2008 Report Posted October 16, 2008 Just dont see the point of making a two stroke look like a common four stroke - but thats just me It doesn't though. If it did then no-one would've noticed it was a Gamma, would they.... How upset do you get when people comment on how you've made your IL4 look like a 916, eh? All 3 of them. What *was* the point. Dave
fredie Posted October 16, 2008 Report Posted October 16, 2008 this rg500 is a ripper baby . i love it . very nice work
ChrisH Posted October 16, 2008 Report Posted October 16, 2008 Your not THE nuttytart are you? FireBlade in the corner of the house somewhere?
marvin Posted October 16, 2008 Report Posted October 16, 2008 forgive me mr wavy man but the body work looks mighty like a gsxr from where im sitting no problem with the rest of the bike its the bodywork which is pointless f4 comparison wirh 916 doesnt make sense - i didnt select that bodywork what a commotion
nuttytart Posted October 17, 2008 Report Posted October 17, 2008 Your not THE nuttytart are you? FireBlade in the corner of the house somewhere? Nope .. never had a Fireblade .. most other things but not 1o'them
